Patrick Moore

Director of Bands

 

Patrick Moore is the Director of Bands at Houston Baptist University in Texas. At HBU, Patrick directs the Athletic Bands, Percussion Studies and oversees the Instrumental department.

Patrick is an education endorser of Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets, and Majestic Percussion.

 

Mr. Moore is an active percussion performer, educator, arranger, adjudicator and clinician. He is a versatile percussionist with experience in many areas of percussion, from concert to marching to world and many others. He has performed at various state Day of Percussion events, and other education conferences.  Patrick has done special performances with Jeff Queen, Robert W. Smith, The United States Army and Field Band, and at the International Society of Music Education in Beijing, China. Mr. Moore has worked many summer music camps and adjudicated many marching contests and state and solo and ensemble festivals.

Patrick earned a Master in Music from Texas Tech University where he arranged and instructed for the percussion section of the Texas Tech Drumline and Steel Drum Band. He earned a Bachelor in Music from the University of Arkansas. Patrick's percussion teachers include Dr. Lisa Rogers, Mr. Alan Shinn, and Mr. Chalon Ragsdale. Patrick is currentley working on his Education Doctorate (Ed.D) at Abileine Christian University.

Mr. Moore is also a published author having arrangements published by Alfred Publishing company and Kendor Music. His professional affiliation includes Percussive Arts Society.

Patrick has arranged music for schools, including: The University of Arkansas, Texas Tech University, Eastern Oklahoma State College West Memphis High School, Bentonville high School, Little Rock Central High School, Blytheville High School, East Junior High, West Junior High School, Wonder Junior High School, Dunbar Middle School, Iles Elementary School, McAlester High School, Hartshorne High School, and Quinton High School.
